Boracay in 2012,
I thought it should not be missed.
I probably checked for nth time for airfare promos, different airlines, I even considered Ro-Ro (Roll-On Roll-Off) or by sea, and endless map browsing.
There might be promos but that would take us months. No no no...I don't really want to waste early booking tickets.
After 5 hour trip we reached Kalibo Bus stop. Luckily, we had met a couple heading also to Boracay that gave us an idea to look for a stay around Station 3 thats cheaper compared to Station 1 and 2.
By the way, if its your first to visit Boracay just like us be ready in Caticlan Port with these: Php 75.00 environmental fees and Php 100.00 terminal fees. One way trip via banca(pump boat) cost Php 25.00. I honestly wondered what is P100.00 terminal fees for?We took the usual banca I believe there is an hourly trip compared to fast craft as your other option. We did not stay inside the terminal we went directly boarding the banca(pump boat). So, I think what makes it expensive is because of the turnstile! hehehe...
Residents of Aklan, Workers in the island, and owners, and children 5 years and below are exempted for environmental fees and terminal fees. Remember the couple we met at a bus they disguised as worker in Boracay to be exempted. They told us about it while chatting at the bus but we did not consider it. It's a vacation and your suppose to have a trouble-free trip. I'm not giving you an idea. Note: They are verifying if you qualify for exemptions. Let's just say the couple got what they wished for.
